High school is a serious matter, and the likely circumstance is that you've probably crawled through Google to find us (There's that alternative that we're getting famous). Who are we? We are a bunch of seniors, alumni and existing students who feel that it's important to share our ruminations, experience and unvalidated advice with juniors who are trying to find their way amidst the whirlwind of school and pre-university decisions.

Alumni
Ang Ying Zhen
Ying Zhen is from the class of 2008, and is currently studying at Stanford University under a PSC Overseas Merit Scholarship (Open). She intends to major in psychology and economics (if she can squeeze that in). She loves behavioral economics, watching the Lakers win championships and whipping up good stir-fry. She used to be in the student council in NUSHS as well as the canoe polo team (cp juniors ftw).
Fiona Foo
Fiona is from the class of 2008. She has done various volunteer stints with organisations such as the Singapore Zoo (you can ask her about her experiences!) She has also gone on to win Individual top at the Singapore Physics Olympiad, and represented Singapore at the 40th International Chemistry Olympiad in Budapest, Hungary. She now studies Computer Science at Harvey Mudd College on a full college financial aid scheme.
Karyen Chai
This is Karyen. Great imagination, with an odd sense of humor that not everyone may concur with (in fact, I will be doing my happy dance if as much as 5% of the population laughs at my jokes). I am currently studying at the University of Dayton, majoring in Psychology. I am pledging Theta Phi Alpha, a social sorority, and Delta Sigma Pi, a business professional fraternity. Studying abroad has taught me a few valuable lessons that has cost quite an amount of money flowing toward the bank, phone companies, and such institutions. More news to come (hopefully no more that involves the loss of money).
Tan Zhong Ming
Zhong Ming is a graduate from the class of 2009, and is studying at Princeton University, after managing to disrupt from his National Service. He hopes to pursue physics as a major, pick up some interesting classes in university, and meet interesting people to discuss the most random sorts of stuff, from Pokemon to Descartes. He spent most of his time in NUS High studying, in the council, research, and in canoe polo.
Vanessa Chew
Vanessa graduated from the school in 2009, and is currently attending UC Berkeley (Cal Golden Bears ftw!) on a PSC Singapore Government Scholarship (Open), pursuing a double degree in Chemistry and Linguistics. On the rare occasion that she has free time, she likes to sing in the Women's Chorale, watch Glee online, and attend as many concerts as she can in the spectacular Bay Area.
Loh Lay Kuan
Loh Lay Kuan graduated from NUS High in 2009 with four majors with honours. A member of the Chinese Orchestra throughout her high school years, she was also involved in various Math- and Science-related activities, such as olympiads, the Physics Interest Group, and various stints at research organizations. She will be proceeding to Stanford University in Fall 2010 on an A*STAR National Science Scholarship to read electrical engineering. She hopes to be able to do her Ph.D. overseas as well as in a nice graduate school under some awesome professor.
Srinath Reddy
Srinath was done with NUS High in 2009 (or as some would see it, NUSHS was done with him) and presently lulls around in inactivity while waiting to start at Cornell in the fall where he’s thinking about majoring in economics and government (concentrating in comparative politics and international relations). Srinath’s interests are all over the place (really) but like any sane person, he appreciates good literature, art, film (oh, and people).
Nguyen Manh Huy
Manh Huy graduated in 2009 with three Honours. His notable achievements include a Gold Medal in the Singapore Physics Olympiad, the Grand Prize (won with his team) in the Singapore Space Challenge and many awards in other national competitions. He will be attending Reed College, a leading US Liberal Arts College, on full financial aid. He hopes to be a physics major and an operator at Reed’s nuclear reactor. Besides his passion for aviation and space, he also enjoys playing music and supporting Man U. His words to the readers: “You can be my wingman anytime!”
Kenneth Lim
Kenneth graduated from NUSHS in 2010, and remains in academic and social limbo until he enlists in May 2011. In rediscovering the truisms of being a teenager the has-been 4 honours student has spent his waking hours in front of his computer, on "T3h Interwebs" and trying to remain reasonably fit. The rest of his time is spent teaching people from ages 6 to 60 the wonders of cheMagic, Science, Forensics and Public Speaking, or on freelance graphic design work. That, and trying not to kill people while behind the wheels of a Class 3 vehicle.
Lai Chui Yi
This Class of 2010 graduate is currently catching up on 6 years of sleep deprivation. She is temporarily employed and hence, unfortunately, unable to volunteer during the weekdays. For now. She has been in the Student Council for the most part of her NUSH life and has dabbled in three CCAs. The Bio/Chem/Math honours and Phys major student has taken the SAT and SAT Subject Tests, 6 APs and 2 olympiads.
Viona Lam
Viona is a member of the Class of 2010. Currently in limbo while waiting to see how the next 4-10 years of her life are about to be planned (or not planned) out, this former 4 Honors student is (re)acquainting herself with the concept of 12 hours of sleep and unemployment. She likes to dispense random bits of information that might or might not have to do with all the research she did while trying to figure out where/what she should apply to/for. She tries to be useful.
Kylie Goh
Kylie graduated from NUS High in 2010 with 4 Honors, and is currently biting-her-nails-pulling-her-hair nerve-wrackingly waiting for the results of her many applications. She is currently interning at the Association of Women for Action and Research (AWARE Singapore). She is an aspiring good person, biologist, poet, activist, plant-nursery-owner, teacher and cafe proprietor.
